The short version
We collect the least we can. We never sell, rent, trade, or share your information with anyone. It stays inside Foundation Mixtecos Unidos and is used for one thing: keeping you updated on the work you are helping pay for. Leave the list or ask us to delete your record at any time, and we will do it, no questions asked.

If you join our email list: your name, your email address, and sometimes your city.
If you donate: your name, email address, the amount and date of your gift, and whether it is monthly or one time. Your card details go straight to Stripe, our payment processor. We never see them and we never store them.
If you write to us: whatever you choose to tell us.
If you visit the site: anonymous usage data through Google Analytics, such as which pages were read and what kind of device was used. It is aggregate. It tells us whether our work is reaching people. It does not tell us who you are.
Three reasons, and only three.
1. To send you The Dispatch, our monthly email.
2. To thank you for a gift, give you a receipt, and send your year end giving statement so you can claim it on your taxes.
3. To understand what is working on this website so we can do better.
Plenty of nonprofits quietly sell, rent, or swap their donor lists with each other. We do not, and we never will.
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it. We do not trade it. We do not hand it to another organization so they can ask you for money. If you gave us your email address, we are the only ones who will ever use it.
Internal use only. Your information stays inside Foundation Mixtecos Unidos, and it is used for exactly three things: to keep you updated on our work, to thank you and send your receipt when you give, and to understand what is working on this website.
Two companies handle your information on our behalf, and only because the site cannot run without them: Stripe processes donations, and Google Analytics counts visits. Neither is permitted to use your information for their own purposes, and neither buys or sells it. The only other time we would hand anything over is if the law required us to, which has never happened.
Donations are handled by Stripe, a payment processor used by millions of businesses and nonprofits. Your card information goes directly to Stripe and is never stored on our website. You can read their privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you are off the list. You can also simply reply and ask, and a real person will take you off by hand.
If you donate, we keep a record of your gift. We have to. You need it for your taxes, and a 501(c)(3) is required to keep accurate records.
You can see your own record, cancel a monthly gift yourself, and check your yearly total at any time on your giving page. If anything there is wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people actually read. It sets a cookie in your browser. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not run ads, and we do not track you across other websites. If you would rather not be counted, most browsers let you block cookies, and Google offers an opt out tool.
Ask us what we have about you and we will tell you. Ask us to correct it and we will. Ask us to delete it and we will, with one exception: donation records we are legally required to keep for tax purposes.
Email info@foundationmixtecosunidos.org and a real person will answer.
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
We will update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we will say so plainly in The Dispatch rather than hoping you do not notice.
