The Baskets · Handwoven in Oaxaca

No two are alike. That’s the point.

Every basket, bag, hat, and wallet is woven from palm by hand by our Mixteco artesanos, and sold at cost, so the money goes straight back to the maker.

How it works

Handmade means one-of-a-kind.

Each piece is woven by a specific person, in whatever colors and pattern they chose that day. That also means we can’t put them all online. You’d never receive the exact one in the photo.

So most of our baskets are sold in person, where you can pick the one that’s yours. Every $10 you spend is about a day’s wages for an artesano; the small bit on top covers materials and shipping. We take no profit.

You’re buying more than a basket

A day’s wages. A family fed. A craft kept alive.

When you carry one of these, you carry a piece of the Mixteco highlands, and you put real, dignified income into the hands of the person who made it.

It’s the rare purchase that feeds a family today and keeps a centuries-old craft alive for tomorrow.
