Our volunteer board selects scholars. Applications open when our first round is announced.
The fund is brand new. The first $300 funds the first scholar.

Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes. Foundation Mixtecos Unidos is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 88-2169731), and your gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Stripe emails your receipt right away.
Why books?
Because they're a cost that stops students before they start. Tuition help gets the headlines, but a student without books on day one is already behind. $300 fixes that, simply and directly.

Does the money stay local?
Yes. Dollars for Scholars is part of our work at home in North San Diego County, and gifts to it go to the book fund.
